Music Videos
Description
This license authorizes the broadcast and for such broadcast purposes to duplicate master music videos for use in television programming including that of national and local stations, as well as specialized stations and non-interactive webcasting.
It also covers usage in background music services.
To apply for a license, please fill out our interactive online form which will be sent directly to our Licensing Department. Once received, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Television: General station or specialized station (other than music)
Rate
- Inter-programming: 60$ per music video for local stations; 90$ per music video for regional stations; 150$ per music video for national stations.
- The fee per music video includes two broadcasts as long as the second broadcast occurs within 6 months of the original broadcast.
- Musical Programming: 5000$ guaranteed annual advance and the greater of 2000$ per month or 20% of gross revenues of the stations or service, prorated to the number of hours of broadcasts of the musical programming.
General terms
- Valid for 12 months, renewable automatically
- The license covers only music videos represented by Soproq
- Licensee is responsible for obtaining the music video content
- Licensee is responsible for paying all other applicable tariffs (musical works, etc.)
- Licensee is responsible for providing all required reporting: financial report for fee calculation and music videos report in EXCEL format
Television: Music Station
Rate
- 10 000$ Guaranteed annual advance
- 10% of gross revenues, prorated to the Soproq repertoire
Minimum of 50% use of Soproq repertoire
General terms
- Valid for 12 months, renewable automatically
- The license covers only music videos represented by Soproq
- Licensee is responsible for obtaining the music video content
- Licensee is responsible for paying all other applicable tariffs (musical works, etc.)
- Licensee is responsible for providing all required reporting: financial report for fee calculation and music videos report in EXCEL format
Community Television
Rate
- 150$ per month for a maximum of 2 hours of weekly music video programming
- 250$ per month for a maximum of 5 hours of weekly music video programming

- Licensee is responsible for obtaining the music video content
- Licensee is responsible for paying all other applicable tariffs (musical works, etc.)
- Licensee is responsible for providing videos reporting in EXCEL format
Background Music Supply Service
Rate
- 15 000$ Guaranteed annual advance
- Service without advertising: 15% of gross revenues, prorated to the Soproq repertoire
- Service with advertising: 20% of gross revenues, prorated to the Soproq repertoire
General terms
- Valid for 12 months, renewable automatically
- The license covers only music videos represented by Soproq
- Licensee is responsible for obtaining the music video content
- Licensee is responsible for paying all other applicable tariffs (musical works, etc.)
- Licensee is responsible for providing all required reporting: financial report for fee calculation and music videos report in EXCEL format
Non-interactive Webcasting
Rate
- 10 000$ Guaranteed annual advance
- The greater of 25% of gross revenues, prorated to the SOPROQ repertoire, or 0.0054$ per play

- The license covers only music videos represented by Soproq
- Licensee is responsible for obtaining the music video content
- Licensee is responsible for paying all other applicable tariffs (musical works, etc.)
